Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Athens, TN 37303 (Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend and as needed
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum care
• Facility: Acute care hospital with 10 PP/GYN beds, 3 Labor beds, 3 Triage beds, and 11 Newborn beds
• Electronic Health Record: MedHost, Centricity Perinatal

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN, BLS, HWC, NRP, PALS
• Ability to work independently and confidently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Willingness to float to Postpartum unit as needed
• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to start
• Professional, team-oriented attitude

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery unit, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Monitor and assess mothers and newborns, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Assist with labor, delivery, and recovery processes
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Accurately document patient care using MedHost and Centricity Perinatal EHR systems
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to Postpartum unit and provide clinical support as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and families
