Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity in Salem, MA — 13-week contract at a Level III Trauma Center on the North Shore near Boston.

Job Details

• Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN / Critical Care RN)
• Location: Salem, MA 01970 (Salem, Massachusetts — North Shore / near Boston)
• Start Date: May 31, 2026
• End Date: August 29, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights as needed; night shift does not rotate)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Unit: 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) — Level III Trauma Center
• Floating: Required (primarily to Medical/Surgical units; up to 4–5 patients when floated)
• EMR: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred)

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130

Job Requirements (Qualifications)

• Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience (MICU experience preferred)
• Strong telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition skills
• Active Massachusetts RN license in good standing (Massachusetts travel nursing candidates welcome)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg units and manage variable patient loads
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred; strong documentation skills required
• Successful completion of required onboarding health and competency checks

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients (sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleed, DKA, renal failure, cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, overdose, and acute psychiatric concerns)
• Manage ICU patient assignments with typical ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity patients; float assignments up to 4–5 patients on Med/Surg
• Interpret telemetry/rhythm strips, recognize dysrhythmias, and escalate care appropriately
• Administer medications, titratable drips, and advanced therapies per unit policy
• Thoroughly document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team for rounding and transitions of care
• Provide patient- and family-centered education and support throughout the ICU stay
