Travel Telemetry RN – 13-week travel nursing contract in Asheville, NC: RN license (NC or compact), BLS, ACLS and 1+ year progressive care/telemetry experience required. Join a dynamic telemetry nursing team at Mission Hospital caring for mixed medical-surgical and step-down patients on nights.
This assignment is a great opportunity for travel nurses seeking telemetry nurse jobs or night shift RN positions in Western North Carolina. The 20-bed inpatient overflow unit supports rapid patient turnover and short-stay flow. Cardiac telemetry is hardwired to bedside monitors when indicated. - Job Title: Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
- Location: Asheville, NC (28801) – Asheville travel nursing, North Carolina nursing jobs
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Start Date: March 9, 2026
- End Date: June 8, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Telemetry RN)
- Schedule: 36 hours/week
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) – ideal for night shift RN candidates
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- On-Call: No call required
- Unit Snapshot: 20-bed inpatient overflow unit; mixed medical-surgical and step-down (progressive care) patients; typical ratios 1:5 (up to 1:6 depending on acuity); telemetry hardwired to bedside monitor when indicated
- EMR: Cerner
- Dress Code: Navy and/or white top with navy bottoms (all white also permitted)
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year progressive care and telemetry nursing experience required; recent progressive care or step-down experience preferred
- Licensure: Valid RN license (North Carolina or compact)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS current
- Clinical Competency: Telemetry competency and cardiac monitoring experience, strong clinical judgment in progressive care/step-down settings
- Work Style: Patient-experience focused, compassionate, collaborative team player
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for medical-surgical and step-down patients in a mixed-acuity overflow unit
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to alarms and changes in patient status
- Perform patient assessments, coordinate care, and implement nursing interventions appropriate for progressive care patients
- Document care accurately and promptly in Cerner EMR
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient care demands
- Maintain a positive attitude and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
