Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of experience in PCU, step-down, telemetry, or similar acute care setting
• BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred (not required)
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients as a PCU RN
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry monitoring and early recognition of clinical changes
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per hospital policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapy, case management, and ancillary staff
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning for step-down level care
• Support the hospital's standards for safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care
