Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of experience in PCU, step-down, telemetry, or similar acute care setting
- BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred (not required)
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients as a PCU RN
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry monitoring and early recognition of clinical changes
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per hospital policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapy, case management, and ancillary staff
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning for step-down level care
- Support the hospital's standards for safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care
