- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (March 16, 2026 – June 15, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1650
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site
- Unit: Women's Services — 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, 3-bed OBED, 8-bed Level 2 NICU
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Labor & Delivery RN)
- Scheduling: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per month
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (Tennessee preferred or compact-eligible travel nurses considered)
- Minimum 1 year recent Labor & Delivery clinical experience — L&D RN or Labor & Delivery nurse background
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring
- Experience with electronic documentation/EMR (CPN and Meditech preferred)
- Ability to float to mother/baby or other departments as needed — flexible travel nurse skills
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and support for patient choice and vaginal birth opportunities
- Advanced skills such as Spinning Babies or STABLE certification are a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based intrapartum care to laboring patients, supporting patient preferences and promoting safe vaginal births
- Circulate in OR and assist with cesarean deliveries; perform procedures including IUPC, FSE, magnesium sulfate administration, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), and nitrous oxide support
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team: unit secretaries, scrub techs, CRNA, midwives, OBGYNs, and neonatal providers (NNP available 24/7)
- Deliver couplet care in the postpartum unit, promote breastfeeding, and coordinate donor milk use when indicated
- Maintain patient experience scores above unit targets (goal: >75%) through excellent communication and patient education
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to unit guidelines, policies, and dress code (hot pink and black uniform)
