Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (competitive travel RN pay for Asheville, NC)
• Location: A leading hospital in Asheville, NC
• Unit: E5 CARD – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 40
• Shift: 12-hour Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (travel nurse assignment)
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Required Qualifications – Cardiac RN / Telemetry RN

• Active RN license (valid for North Carolina travel nursing)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year recent progressive care / stepdown experience
• Telemetry experience (Telemetry RN preferred)
• Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drips, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical assessment skills
• Flexible, positive attitude, and patient-focused bedside manner
• Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge experience

Primary Responsibilities – Progressive Care / Cardiac Nursing

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac and stepdown patients including CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-cardiac procedures
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and titrate cardiac IV medications per protocol
• Perform bedside procedures as indicated (e.g., cardioversion)
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team: charge nurses, PCTs, unit secretaries, physicians, and cardiology teams
• Float as needed to MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID unit, and ER holding to support unit staffing
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
• Adhere to unit guidelines, policies, and orientation expectations for travel nurses
