Job Details
- Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative Nurse – Travel Contract
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,700 – $1,790
- Location: Fort Myers, FL 33908 (Lee County)
- Setting: Operating Room (Adult & Pediatric) — Pediatric OR experience required
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days; 3 shifts per week (36 guaranteed hours weekly)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel Contract (Florida travel nursing, OR jobs Fort Myers)
- Call Requirement: Call required; details discussed during interview
- Floating: May float to sister campuses as needed
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience; pediatric OR experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license may apply for travel nurses)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred where applicable
- CNOR certification preferred (perioperative certification highly valued)
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Degree accreditation must be on profile OR at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to float to other units/campuses and participate in call rotation
- Radius rule: Must live more than 50 miles from facility (per travel policy)
- Experience with Epic EMR or other electronic health record systems preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative and intraoperative nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Assist with a variety of surgical specialties: ENT, General, Vascular, Endovascular, Robotics, Dental, GYN, Ortho, Spine, and Neurosurgery
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, instruments, and surgical equipment
- Document patient care and perioperative notes accurately in Epic EMR
- Participate in call rotation and respond to urgent surgical needs
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe surgical outcomes
- Float to sister campuses or other units as needed and function as core staff during assignment
- Promote a positive, professional unit culture and patient-centered care
