Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100 (Competitive travel RN pay)
- Location: Louisville, KY 40241 — Louisville nursing jobs / Kentucky travel nursing
- Unit: EMU (Seizure Monitoring Unit) – Med/Surg / PCU RN role
- Patient Ratio: No more than 4:1 (low patient ratios)
- Number of Beds: 6
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks (90 days) — travel assignment
- Start Date: August 10, 2025
- End Date: November 8, 2025
- Scrub Color: Galaxy blue (not provided)
- Charting: EPIC (Epic charting experience preferred)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience (PCU / med-surg / telemetry experience preferred)
- Diploma or Associate degree in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
- Clinical skills: IV insertion, blood draws, PICC/Central Line management, CPAP/BiPAP
- Ability to read tele strips and interpret EEG/telemetry monitoring
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care as a PCU Registered Nurse in the EMU/seizure monitoring unit
- Monitor and assess patients with seizure diagnoses using EEG and cardiac/telemetry monitors
- Administer common medications including Ativan and antiseizure medications per protocol
- Perform IV insertions, blood draws, and manage PICC/Central Lines
- Operate and manage CPAP/BiPAP equipment when indicated
- Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, EEG techs, respiratory therapy, pharmacy) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Work every other weekend as part of the scheduled shift rotation
