Travel Nursing Job Details — Cath Lab RN | Rockford, Illinois
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Rockford, Illinois (61114) — Illinois nursing jobs, Rockford healthcare
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days with On-Call Rotation (weeknights, weekends, holidays)
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Hours per Week: 40
- Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center — Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, advanced cardiovascular and catheterization procedures
Required Qualifications — Cath Lab Nurse / Cardiac Cath Lab RN
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Illinois RN licensure (required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must successfully pass EKG test prior to completion of orientation
- Minimum 3 years RN experience, including at least 1 year of critical care experience
- Cardiovascular intervention experience required (cardiac catheterization, PCI, interventional radiology preferred)
Key Responsibilities — Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology RN
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process and strong critical thinking skills in the cath lab and IR settings
- Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved protocols and standards
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans and pre/post procedure care
- Educate patients and families on procedures, expectations, and post-procedure care at an appropriate literacy level
- Participate in departmental performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments as needed
- Manage complex clinical situations, prioritize care, and delegate appropriately
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain competency in cardiac cath lab and interventional procedures
