- End Date: September 1, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights — 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830 – $1,930
- On-call: 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period
- Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday required; willingness to float to postpartum as needed
- Benefits: Scrubs provided; competitive travel nursing pay for Maryland nursing jobs
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D clinical experience required)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license: Maryland or compact state license accepted
- Certifications required at time of submittal: BLS and NRP
- C-EFM (through NCC) certification required at time of submittal
- ACLS preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Ability to work every other weekend and holiday; on-call participation per schedule
- Willingness to accept postpartum patients as needed
- Two (2) supervisor references required for travel nurse credentialing
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Baby-Friendly Organization
- Manage triage, assessment, and continuous care of obstetrical patients in the L&D unit
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and emergency obstetric situations
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using C-EFM (NCC)
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as ordered
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and collaborate in rapid intervention teams
- Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV team, and ancillary services
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with hospital policies and protocols
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage as scheduled; float to postpartum when required
