- Role: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (PCU RN / Step-Down Nurse)
- Assignment Type: 13-week Travel Contract (Travel Nurse)
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- End Date: August 10, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (competitive travel nursing pay)
- Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Step-Down Unit (acute care, telemetry, cardiac step-down)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in a PCU, step-down, telemetry, or similar acute care setting
- BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (required for this travel assignment)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities
- ACLS preferred but not required (preferred credential for some PCU roles)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, telemetry, and responses to treatment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management) to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed, following hospital policies
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, and post-discharge instructions
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients, families, and staff while following acute care best practices
