Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-week travel nurse assignment in Cleveland, OH. Active Ohio RN license and recent Cardiac/Stepdown (telemetry/acute care) experience required. Join our cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery team on 12-hour nights.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
• Location: Cleveland, OH 44106 (University Circle area)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 30, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in a Cardiac Stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care unit
• Stepdown Unit RN certification preferred (Cardiac Stepdown RN, Telemetry certification)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or obtainable prior to start
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Fit Test, Physical/Health Statement, 2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Successful completion of skills checklist and competency exams
• Background check, fingerprinting, and education/employment verification
• Valid Driver's License or state ID required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgery (post-op cardiac care)
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, telemetry, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications, IV therapy, treatments, and interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with cardiac surgery, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Perform clinical assessments, EKG interpretation basics, and timely escalation for changes in condition
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care, discharge planning, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
