Travel RN opportunity in adult inpatient behavioral health in Salem, Massachusetts. Join a 30-bed adult psych unit and provide compassionate care for patients with diverse mental health needs in a historic coastal community near Boston.

• Schedule: Rotating days, evenings, and nights with every other weekend rotation
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910-$2,010
• Patient Population: Adult inpatient psych patients ages 18-65

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psych nursing experience
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• AHA BLS certification
• Experience with psychotropic medications and related side effects
• Proficiency with automated medication dispensing systems
• Ability to function in a charge nurse role when needed
• Competence completing admissions and discharges
• EPIC experience preferred
• Knowledge of behavioral health safety practices, restraint/seclusion guidelines, and patient rights preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe, and therapeutic nursing care for adult psychiatric patients
• Assess, plan, and deliver nursing interventions for patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, suicidal ideation, and dual diagnosis needs
• Support patients with behavioral health and medically complex needs, including IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care
• Administer medications accurately and monitor for therapeutic effects and side effects
• Complete admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient documentation in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Assist with charge nurse duties and maintain a calm, supportive behavioral health environment
• Follow clinical standards related to safety, legal status, guardianship, and healthcare proxy processes
• Float as needed within the behavioral health setting
