Job Details

• Position: PACU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Location: Philadelphia, PA 19141 — a vibrant and well-connected part of the city with access to neighborhood conveniences, dining, and Philadelphia’s rich history and culture.
• Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Recovery Room
• Schedule: Day shift, 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days
• Shift Times: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM, with call
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 9/14/2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
• Patient Population: Adults, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Additional Notes: Call required; floating may be needed to related procedural areas; first-time travelers are welcome

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of PACU or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• ICU background required
• Experience with Cerner or similar electronic medical record (EMR) charting systems required
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Strong clinical judgment in post-operative and post-procedural recovery care
• Ability to adapt to a busy, high-acuity healthcare environment
• Compliance items must be completed on time, including required documentation and credentials

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia recovery care for post-surgical and post-procedural patients
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition during the recovery phase
• Care for a wide range of cases, including trauma, transplant, GI, ENT, vascular, cardiac cath, interventional radiology, and surgical recovery patients
• Support patients with advanced equipment and therapies as needed, including vents, A-lines, Swan, drains, CBI, and vasoactive IV titration
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure smooth transitions from procedure areas to recovery
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the charting system
• Participate in call coverage and assist with float needs when assigned
• Deliver compassionate, efficient patient care while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality outcomes
