Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown or progressive care unit experience in an acute care setting required
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS preferred
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms
- Comfortable working every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Willingness to float as needed and assist with ICU tasks when appropriate
- Must meet the 75-mile travel radius requirement
- Professional appearance standards required, including natural-colored hair and no visible facial piercings, fake nails, shellac, or visible tattoos
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate bedside care for progressive care and cardiac stepdown patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately
- Care for patients recovering from cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
- Administer and titrate medications and drips according to unit protocols
- Support patients requiring advanced oxygen therapies such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow support
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and high-turnover patient flow on busy shifts
- Adapt quickly to changing unit needs and provide support across the clinical team as needed
