Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week acute care nursing job in Rockford, IL. Join a collaborative perioperative team, support a wide variety of surgical cases, and deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment.

• Start Date: 08/31/2026
• End Date: 11/30/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour evenings, Monday through Friday, 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700 - $2,840
• Call Requirements: Approximately once per week; every 3rd to 4th weekend; holiday call
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 1 week
• Scrubs: Provided

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois
• Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Scrubbing experience required
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, OR workflows, and surgical procedures
• Ability to work evening shifts and participate in a rotating call schedule
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care throughout the perioperative process
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, ortho, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic cases
• Perform scrubbing duties as needed and assist the surgical team with procedural readiness
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in the operative setting
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and support staff to ensure smooth case flow
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold established clinical standards
• Participate in call coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Contribute to a safe, efficient, patient-centered surgical environment with a focus on teamwork and quality care
