This NICU RN position is a Level III neonatal intensive care travel assignment focused on providing compassionate, high-acuity care for sick neonates. - Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2 or 1:1; may be tripled in low-acuity cases
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience
- NRP certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience caring for sick neonates
- Comfort working in a Level III NICU environment
- Previous travel nursing experience not required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and high-risk newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit
- Monitor and support infants requiring conventional ventilators, high-frequency jet ventilators, high-frequency oscillators, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and nitric oxide therapy
- Assess patient condition and respond to changes in clinical status with urgency and professionalism
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver safe, high-quality neonatal nursing care
- Support daily NICU workflows in a 41-bed unit with single, double, and triple rooms
- Provide care for all aspects of NICU nursing except surgical and cardiac cases
- Float to the Well Baby Nursery when needed
