Job Requirements

• Active New York RN license or eligibility for a limited permit at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• BLS required prior to start
• ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of start
• Intermittent fetal monitoring within 6 months of employment and/or EFM certification within 1 year
• BSN preferred
• Board certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner preferred
• Ability to float to units within competency as needed

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments using subjective and objective data sources
• Evaluate assessment findings and establish appropriate nursing diagnoses
• Develop individualized care plans with realistic outcomes and timelines based on patient condition and age
• Deliver patient care aligned with the plan of care and patient response to interventions
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and document thoroughly in the medical record
• Assign and oversee tasks for non-RN staff members as appropriate
• Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care priorities as needed
• Provide patient and family education tailored to learning needs and readiness
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and newborns
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities
