Experienced PCU Registered Nurse wanted for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Asheville, NC. Join a fast-paced Cardiovascular Progressive Care unit and provide high-acuity care to complex cardiac and vascular patients while working with a collaborative, experienced healthcare team in one of North Carolina’s most scenic mountain cities.

- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Call: No call required
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Floating: May float to other stepdown, med-surg, or ER inpatient holding areas as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
- Stepdown RN experience required
- Telemetry nursing experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience with cardiovascular or vascular surgery patients preferred
- CVICU experience is a plus
- Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care environment with changing patient acuity
- Strong teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability are essential
Responsibilities
- Care for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, including open heart, TAVR, thoracic surgery, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass cases
- Monitor and manage overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, chest pain, DKA, sepsis, and heart block
- Provide skilled stepdown and telemetry nursing care for patients with complex needs
- Manage chest tubes, epidurals, tube feedings, and cardiac drips as ordered
- Administer and titrate medications using a variety of infusion pumps and cardiac protocols
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Document care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Support a positive, team-oriented environment while maintaining flexibility across assigned units
