- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day or night) per 6-week schedule period
- Call: No call required
- Floating: May float to stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding areas as needed
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or telemetry nursing experience required
- Experience caring for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients strongly preferred
- ACLS and BLS required
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital setting
- Ability to adapt to floating assignments when needed
- Cerner experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for cardiovascular progressive care and stepdown patients
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from open heart, vascular, thoracic, and related procedures
- Care for overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, DKA, and heart block
- Perform and support chest tube management, epidural management, tube feedings, and IV glucose management
- Manage cardiac drips and therapies such as phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and more
- Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient monitoring using the EMR system
- Contribute to a flexible, team-focused culture that values strong clinical skills, adaptability, and quality patient care
