Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license in hand
• At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience
• Experience in pediatric emergency nursing or emergency department care preferred
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Epic experience preferred; candidates without Epic experience may be required to complete training
• Ability to work rotating weekends
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency setting
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions with urgency and accuracy
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care team members to support safe, effective patient care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the charting system
• Maintain a patient-centered approach while supporting families through the care experience
• Adapt quickly to a fast-paced clinical environment and contribute to smooth unit operations
