- Position: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Knoxville, TN 37923
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 21, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Hours per Week: 36
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Call Requirement: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of current Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current RN license in Tennessee or compact license in hand at time of submission
- ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP required
- NIHSS required or obtainable after acceptance
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with charting systems required; any system experience is acceptable
- Certifications and licensure must remain valid for at least 45 days from the start date
- Ability to work floating assignments as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care for patients in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and couplet care
- Monitor and support laboring patients, including high-risk antepartum cases and obstetrical triage
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and recover C-section patients
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and support labor management interventions
- Manage common obstetrical therapies including IUPC placement/calibration, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, anticoagulation therapy, and antihypertensives
- Maintain central lines as needed and follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient-centered care
- Adapt to patient acuity and unit flow while maintaining strong attention to safety and quality
