Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Contract in Hastings, Nebraska

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room, Level III Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center
• Location: Hastings, Nebraska
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Approximately 3 shifts
• Scheduling: Block scheduling when possible

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of emergency department or emergency room experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to care for a mixed-acuity patient population, including pediatric patients
• Prior travel nurse experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a busy emergency department
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with abdominal pain, falls, chest pain, and other urgent conditions
• Manage variable patient ratios in a fast-paced emergency room environment
• Administer and monitor common emergency treatments and drips, including antibiotics, cardiac drips, heparin, TPA, and insulin
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, lab, imaging, and support staff
• Perform and assist with emergency interventions, patient transport, and monitoring as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and work effectively within EPIC
