• Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Setting: Progressive Care / Intermediate Care Unit
• Location: Rockford, IL 61104
• Start Date: September 8, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Schedule Notes: Every third weekend and rotating holidays
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920 - $2,020

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience preferred in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or intermediate care
• BLS and ACLS required
• Experience caring for cardiac, post-procedure, telemetry, and intermediate care patients
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and rotating holidays
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort in a fast-paced acute care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Care for patients recovering from open heart procedures, TAVR, Watchman, and other cardiac interventions
• Monitor and manage patients with titratable drips, new BiPAP needs, DKA, CIWA, and other complex conditions
• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain accurate documentation and support smooth transitions in care
• Promote high standards of patient safety, teamwork, and clinical excellence
