MICU RN Travel Nursing Job – Medical Intensive Care Unit in San Antonio, Texas

Job Requirements

  • Active Texas RN license required; temporary license not accepted
  • Minimum 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NIH Stroke certification required
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a high-acuity critical care environment
  • Experience with MICU or MSICU preferred
  • Exposure to IABP and CRRT preferred
  • Meditech experience preferred
  • Ability to float as needed

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit
  • Monitor patient conditions closely and respond quickly to changes in acuity
  • Perform and assist with critical care procedures including chest tubes, trachs, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the unit’s charting system
  • Follow unit policies, attendance expectations, and scheduled break procedures
  • Float to other units as required based on facility needs
