Job Requirements
- Active Texas RN license required; temporary license not accepted
- Minimum 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke certification required
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a high-acuity critical care environment
- Experience with MICU or MSICU preferred
- Exposure to IABP and CRRT preferred
- Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to float as needed
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit
- Monitor patient conditions closely and respond quickly to changes in acuity
- Perform and assist with critical care procedures including chest tubes, trachs, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the unit’s charting system
- Follow unit policies, attendance expectations, and scheduled break procedures
- Float to other units as required based on facility needs
