Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Telemetry Nursing / Tele RN
- Location: San Antonio, TX 78229
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
- Schedule: Every other weekend with some holidays
- Floating: Travelers are required to float as needed
- Charting System: Meditech
Job Requirements
- Active Texas RN license required; temporary license not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or specialty nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIH certification required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Strong understanding of dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
- Knowledge of cardiac medications and IV drip management, including insulin and heparin
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical setting
- Experience with Meditech documentation preferred
- Professional communication, patient education, and de-escalation skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to patients with cardiac and medical needs
- Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Manage IV insertions, lines, drains, and cardiac-related therapies
- Support post-care for cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement or revision, and vascular surgery patients
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Meditech
- Use AIDET and other patient-centered communication techniques to enhance the care experience
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, efficient, and compassionate care
- Follow unit policies, attendance expectations, and floating guidelines
