• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule: 3x12-hour day/night rotating schedule with every other weekend coverage
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Setting: Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown / Cardiac Care Unit
• Unit Highlights: 24 beds, average daily census of 19, float expectations to related units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Ohio or Compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown experience
• At least 1 manager/supervisor reference and 2 references total at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience caring for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
• Strong clinical background with cardiac stepdown procedures and post-operative cardiac care
• Ability to float as needed and work rotating day/night coverage

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for pediatric cardiac stepdown patients with medical and surgical cardiac diagnoses
• Monitor and manage patients requiring trachs, vents, high-flow nasal cannula, and inotropic support
• Support post-op care for cardiac catheterization and CTICU step-down patients
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care for patients with complex needs including transplants and respiratory support
• Perform medication administration, blood product management, IV therapy, and line care
• Assess and manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold high standards of patient safety
