Overview
This 25-week travel nursing assignment is designed for a Registered Nurse with recent experience in cardiac stepdown, cardiac ICU, or medical/surgical ICU settings. You will care for patients recovering from open-heart procedures and other complex cardiac conditions while floating as needed to support ICU patient care needs.

- Location: Springfield, Illinois
- Setting: Cardiac Intensive Care / Cardiac Stepdown with floating support to ICU units as needed
- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Start Date: ASAP / October 12, 2026
- Contract Length: 25 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Pattern: Approximately 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week; every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360-$2,480
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in cardiac, ICU, or stepdown care
- Active Illinois RN license in hand
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Strong experience caring for cardiac, medical ICU, and surgical ICU patients
- Ability to float when needed and adapt to changing patient acuity
- Travel nurse experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled bedside nursing care for cardiac and critical care patients
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from open-heart surgeries and other complex cardiac conditions
- Support patients in medical and surgical ICU settings as assigned
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Respond to changing patient needs and prioritize care in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and promptly
- Float to related units as needed to support patient care coverage
