This travel RN opportunity is ideal for experienced med/surg telemetry nurses who are confident in post-operative care, telemetry monitoring, and working in a fast-paced acute care environment.

- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Unit Focus: Post-operative general surgery, telemetry monitoring, and complex abdominal surgical care
Job Requirements
- 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg Telemetry required
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required through AHA only
- Telemetry testing required prior to start
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity post-op setting
- Willingness to float as needed within scope
- Travel-compliant candidate; local candidates are not eligible
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to post-operative surgical patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to rhythm changes and clinical concerns
- Care for patients with NG tubes, feeding tubes, PICC lines, TPN, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, PCA pumps, and epidurals
- Perform medication administration, IV therapy, line care, and wound/ostomy care
- Support patient education focused on recovery, ostomy care, and discharge readiness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
- Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a busy surgical environment
