Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; New York RN license preferred at submission
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
- BLS certification required or obtainable before the start date
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and every other weekend
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Experience with Cerner or similar EMR systems is helpful
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications, manage infusions, and support individualized treatment plans
- Perform IV starts, phlebotomy/venipuncture, and assist with patient transports
- Support patients with respiratory needs, including oxygen weaning and nebulizer-to-inhaler transitions
- Collaborate with the care team to support patients with pulmonary and post-surgical needs
- Float to like units as needed while working within scope and competencies
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold high standards of patient safety and teamwork
