Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Setting: Acute care operating room / pre-op surgical center
• Location: Wheeling, WV 26003 — a welcoming Ohio Valley community with a scenic riverfront setting, rich history, and easy access to outdoor recreation
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating schedule
• Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts per week; occasional midnight shifts may be required
• Weekly Commitment: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend / Call: Rotating weekends and on-call coverage required, including one weekend shift and one secondary call day per scheduling period
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,200 - $2,320

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Strong IV skills are essential
• Surgical nursing knowledge and robotics experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work in a high-volume perioperative environment
• Comfort with pre-op care and operating room workflows
• Flexibility to support weekend rotation, call shifts, and occasional midnight coverage
• Sunrise or EPIC charting experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in the operating room and surgical center setting
• Support pre-op care for same-day and overnight surgical cases
• Perform and maintain strong IV access skills throughout the perioperative process
• Assist with a wide variety of procedures, including complex and robotics cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members to ensure smooth patient flow
• Prepare patients for surgery and help maintain a safe, efficient OR environment
• Float to the OR holding area as needed
• Follow unit protocols, chart accurately, and contribute to a positive surgical team culture
• Participate in call coverage and weekend rotation in support of operational needs
