- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Schedule: Night shifts, every other weekend, holidays required
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Floating: Required as needed
- Patient Population: Adult acute care, cardiac, thoracic, transplant, and telemetry patients
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Telemetry, cardiac stepdown, progressive care unit (PCU), DOU, or IMC experience required
- Strong vent management and transplant experience required
- Experience in an academic Level I or Level II trauma center, or a similar high-acuity hospital setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to pass a telemetry test before start
- Experience interpreting adult critical rhythms and dysrhythmias
- Must be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to acutely ill adult cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including thoracic and transplant populations
- Manage ventilated patients and support post-transplant nursing care
- Administer medications, titrate cardiac drips, and support insulin protocols as ordered
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Float to related units as needed to support patient care demands
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
- Promote safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care at all times
