- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM with a 30-minute unpaid break
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Yes, within competencies
- EMR: Cerner
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; New York State license preferred at time of submission or able to be obtained prior to start
- At least 1 year of postpartum, Mother/Baby, or similar maternal newborn nursing experience required
- 2+ years of specialty experience preferred for strongest consideration
- Prior travel nurse experience is preferred, but not required
- BLS certification required or obtainable prior to start date
- NRP certification required
- Strong assessment skills and comfort caring for postpartum patients and newborns
- Lactation experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate postpartum nursing care to new mothers following vaginal or Cesarean deliveries
- Complete postpartum assessments and support recovery on the Mother/Baby unit
- Perform frequent newborn assessments, including weight checks and bilirubin monitoring
- Support patient education and family-centered care during the postpartum stay
- Collaborate with the care team to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Float to other units within scope and competencies as needed
- Maintain excellent documentation and follow unit processes during night shifts
