Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Acute care Med/Surg unit
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Nights with weekends as scheduled; every-other-weekend commitment
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930-$2,030
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
• Start Date: Flexible based on availability

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg or acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to patient changes
• Comfortable caring for a diverse adult patient population in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work scheduled nights, weekends, and holiday rotation as required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Assess patient conditions, monitor progress, and promptly communicate changes in status
• Administer medications, treatments, and ordered therapies according to best practice standards
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, CNAs, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Support care for patients with conditions such as CHF, pneumonia, COPD, renal disease, orthopedics, oncology, and post-procedural needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and uphold unit protocols and patient safety standards
• Adapt to patient acuity and assist with floating when needed within appropriate patient populations
