• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Float Expectations: As needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate care areas

Job Requirements

• Active North Carolina RN license or compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) required
• Strong IV therapy and IV competency skills
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical/Surgical patients
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions with clinical confidence
• Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, coordinated patient care
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, sepsis, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, and weakness/falls
• Support end-of-life and hospice-focused care with compassion and professionalism
• Float to related units as needed while maintaining strong Med/Surg nursing standards
• Serve as a patient advocate and contribute to a positive, high-performing healthcare team culture
