Experienced Registered Nurse needed for a Cardiac Stepdown travel nursing assignment in Madison, Wisconsin. - Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Weekly Schedule: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per week
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and some holidays required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Setting: Academic Level I trauma center
- Patient Population: Adult acute care and stepdown patients
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience within the last 3 years
- Cardiac stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, or telemetry experience required
- Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center, or similar high-acuity hospital setting
- Ventilator experience required
- Transplant experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- Epic charting experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Willingness to float as needed
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to acutely ill adult cardiac and progressive care patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely clinical intervention
- Care for patients with complex diagnoses, including pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, and post-lung transplant needs
- Manage ventilated patients and support advanced respiratory care needs
- Perform comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and ongoing reassessment of patient status
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Support safe patient flow across general care and IMC-level assignments
- Float to other appropriate units as required by patient care needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established clinical standards in Epic
- Contribute to a team environment focused on quality, safety, and excellent patient outcomes
