Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570–$1,650
• Location: Fredericksburg, Texas
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Unit: 24-bed medical-surgical and telemetry unit
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
• Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend or two weekends within a four-week schedule; holidays are required
• Charting System: Meditech Expanse

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience; 2 or more years preferred
• Recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Postoperative care experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• PALS and NIH Stroke Scale experience or certification preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced inpatient environment
• Self-motivated, dependable team player who takes initiative

Medical-Surgical and Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, patient status, and clinical changes
• Care for postoperative patients and support recovery through assessment, intervention, and education
• Administer and monitor cardiac and heparin infusions according to clinical protocols
• Perform wound care, intravenous starts, bladder care, Foley care, continuous bladder irrigation, and nasogastric tube care
• Complete daily weights, intake and output documentation, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and ongoing nursing assessments
• Admit and discharge assigned patients while coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team
• Use telemetry monitoring and electronic documentation systems accurately and efficiently
• Float to the ICU when needed to support medical-surgical overflow patients
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and fellow members of the care team
