Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Nashville, Tennessee Contract

Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Nashville, Tennessee 37208
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 18, 2027
• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; weekend coverage required
• Unit: Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby LDRP
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
• Call: No call required
• Orientation: Orientation includes split 8-hour sessions followed by department-based 12-hour shifts

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Recent Mother-Baby experience and the ability to float between Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby
• Current, active Tennessee RN license or compact multistate RN license at the time of submission
• Current Nursys report with no pending license status
• Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications
• Current NIH certification
• Current CPI certification; MAB certification may be accepted in lieu of CPI
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and obstetrical patient triage
• Ability to provide respectful, safe, and compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including individuals in a correctional healthcare setting
• Required immunizations and compliance documentation must be completed by applicable deadlines; approved medical or religious exemptions may be considered where permitted

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
• Care for patients in both Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby areas as assigned
• Perform triage and ongoing assessments of obstetrical patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using external fetal monitoring equipment
• Support vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including circulating for C-sections as needed
• Recognize changes in maternal or fetal condition and promptly escalate concerns
• Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with providers, scrub technicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow unit, safety, and infection-prevention standards
• Adapt to a dynamic night-shift environment while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered care
