Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650

• Work Setting: On-site, short-term acute-care hospital environment

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of permanent behavioral health nursing experience, preferably in a short-term acute-care hospital setting
• Active Ohio nursing license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Demonstrated experience caring for geriatric or adult behavioral health patients
• Proficiency in milieu management, medication management, patient assessments, and clinical documentation
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months
• Active required certifications and successful completion of applicable background, health, and credentialing requirements
• Willingness to complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions may be considered

Geriatric Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to geriatric behavioral health patients
• Support a therapeutic milieu and promote a safe, respectful, and structured unit environment
• Complete comprehensive physical, mental, and behavioral health assessments
• Administer medications safely and monitor patients for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly to the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
• Participate in treatment planning, patient education, and coordination of care
• Collaborate with patients, families, providers, and other members of the care team to support positive outcomes
