Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
• Location: Olney, Maryland
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,930
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call Requirement: 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period
• Unit: Labor & Delivery with approximately 10 beds and 10 rooms
• Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Additional Information: Labor nurses may care for postpartum patients as needed; scrubs are provided

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Maryland or a valid compact nursing license
• At least 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience; a minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the past 7 years must be verifiable
• Previous travel nursing experience, including completion of at least one travel assignment
• Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications
• Current C-EFM certification through NCC at the time of submission
• Recent experience with labor, delivery, triage, inductions, cesarean sections, and postpartum care
• Two supervisory references, including one from the most recent assignment
• Ability to meet required onboarding, laboratory, documentation, and education deadlines
• Flu vaccination is required

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, forceps and vacuum-assisted deliveries, and recovery following cesarean procedures
• Perform obstetric triage, sterile vaginal examinations, fetal monitoring, and assessment of labor progression
• Administer and monitor epidural and general anesthesia-related care, IV therapies, infusions, and patient-controlled analgesia
• Support the management of postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, amnioinfusion, and other obstetric complications
• Provide fundus, lochia, perineal, wound, pain, reflex, edema, and clonus assessments
• Administer blood and blood products according to established protocols
• Promote Baby-Friendly practices and deliver education and support to patients and families
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia providers, respiratory services, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and other members of the care team
