This opportunity offers the chance to care for pediatric patients in a 23-bed department supported by an experienced, collaborative, and team-oriented staff. Denver’s 80218 area provides an exciting urban setting with vibrant arts, dining, outdoor recreation, and easy access to the Rocky Mountains.
Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Denver, Colorado
- Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Emergency Department
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Assignment End Date: January 25, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Work Arrangement: On-site
- Typical Patient Ratio: 4:1, with 5:1 during surges
- Technology: GE monitoring equipment and Meditech electronic medical record
Pediatric Emergency RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to practice in Colorado
- At least 1 year of current pediatric emergency department RN experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications
- PALS may be accepted in place of ENPC
- Required pediatric emergency nursing experience
- CEN or CPEN certification preferred
- Demonstrated IV competency preferred
- Caring, competent, adaptable, and dependable approach to pediatric patient care
- Strong communication skills and willingness to contribute to a supportive emergency department team
Pediatric Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to pediatric emergency patients
- Perform focused nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly recognize changes in condition
- Initiate IVs, perform venipuncture, and access ports according to department standards
- Complete nasal washes, point-of-care glucose testing, and EKGs
- Place and manage Foley catheters as clinically indicated
- Administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team during urgent and emergent care
- Support patient flow, clear communication, and a positive experience for children and their families
