Position Overview
Join a dedicated Emergency Department team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week nursing assignment in Rome, New York. This on-site travel nursing opportunity offers the chance to provide high-quality emergency care in a 14-bed emergency unit serving a close-knit upstate New York community. The department supports patient ratios of approximately 4:1 to 5:1 and is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Rome, NY
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
- Assignment Dates: October 26, 2026–January 23, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Healthcare Setting: 14-bed Emergency Department
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 to 5:1
- Charting and Medication Systems: DT Systems and Pyxis
- Time-Off Consideration: Holiday time-off requests are not available for this assignment
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New York
- At least 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Strong patient assessment, emergency triage, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-acuity emergency care setting
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage patients according to acuity and clinical need
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to emergency patients across a range of conditions
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely using established protocols and Pyxis systems
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and follow-up guidance
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient Emergency Department environment during overnight operations
