Bring your critical care expertise to a fast-paced ACU/CCU environment in Yakima, Washington. This travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse who is confident caring for complex neuro/spine and cardiovascular patients, managing advanced respiratory support, and responding to changing patient acuity. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 2:1, with 1:1 assignments possible for highly acute patients. Yakima offers an inviting Central Washington setting known for its sunny climate, scenic valley views, outdoor recreation, orchards, and vineyards.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200–$2,320
- Location: Yakima, WA
- Assignment Dates: November 2, 2026–January 30, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Call: No call required
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Floating: ICU-level or lower-acuity assignments throughout the facility as needed
- Dress Code: Professional scrubs in any color
ICU Travel RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU, ACU, or CCU Registered Nurse experience
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment; first-time travelers are not being considered
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Demonstrated experience caring for neuro/spine patients and patients receiving vasopressors
- Proficiency with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, arterial lines, chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, DKA management, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths
- Experience with post-TCAR and femoral endarterectomy patients
- Impella and/or IABP experience preferred
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients in the ACU/CCU setting
- Monitor patient condition, hemodynamic status, arterial lines, femoral sheaths, and response to vasopressor therapy
- Manage patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other advanced respiratory support while recognizing the need for potential escalation to intubation
- Care for patients with neuro/spine conditions, DKA, chest tubes, wound vacs, and complex postoperative needs
- Support recovery for patients following TCAR and femoral endarterectomy procedures
- Perform dressing changes and deliver safe, evidence-based bedside care
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary team to promptly address changes in patient acuity
- Float to ICU-level or lower-acuity units when needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care
