Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Roswell, New Mexico

- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 25, 2027
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36- or 48-hour option
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2 in the ICU
- Patient Population: Adult critical care patients
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
- Travel Eligibility: Applicants must reside outside the 50-mile local radius
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or a valid compact-state license; pending New Mexico or compact licensure may be considered if obtained before the start date
- At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent experience with electronic health record documentation
- Ability to care for critically ill adult patients at an approximate 1:2 ICU ratio
- Willingness to float to the medical-surgical unit when ICU census or staffing needs require
- Strong patient assessment, communication, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
- Travel nursing experience is welcome but not required; first-time travelers are encouraged to apply
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the ICU/CCU
- Monitor and manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and airway suctioning
- Assess and manage arterial lines, central lines, ports, and other critical care access devices
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions according to patient condition and established protocols
- Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias and respond promptly to changes in patient status
- Provide care for patients experiencing acute stroke, renal failure, multisystem organ dysfunction, and other complex conditions
- Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV insulin, and continuous sedation as ordered
- Support patients before and after cardiac catheterization or intervention and provide post-cardiac surgery care
- Assist with chest tube procedures and deliver surgical intensive care as needed
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, and other members of the healthcare team
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in the electronic health record
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions while promoting a safe, compassionate patient-care environment
