Position Overview
A nationally recognized healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead Inpatient Medical-Surgical and Telemetry services. Reporting directly to executive nursing leadership, this role provides operational, clinical, and strategic oversight for multiple inpatient nursing units while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
The Director will play a key role in nursing operations, staff development, patient outcomes, resource management, and organizational growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven nursing leader looking to advance within a large, high-acuity healthcare system.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing units
- Support nursing excellence, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and operational goals
- Develop and mentor nursing leaders and frontline staff
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to clinical standards
- Manage staffing, productivity, budgets, and resource utilization
- Drive employee engagement and patient satisfaction initiatives
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and effective patient care coordination
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Associate Degree in Nursing plus Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or BSN required
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Experience as a Nurse Manager, full-time Charge Nurse, or equivalent leadership role required
- Strong operational, financial, and clinical leadership skills
- CPR certification required
- Excellent communication, team-building, and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- MSN or Master's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Experience leading multiple inpatient nursing units
- Previous experience in a high-acuity hospital environment
