Description
Job Summary – Ultrasound Technologist
- Perform high quality ultrasound procedures as requested by physicians, following established protocols in ambulatory and/or hospital settings.
- Prepare patients and equipment for ultrasound exams, including positioning, sterilization, and equipment setup.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort and understanding.
- Adhere to all safety, infection-control, and radiation policies and protocols, including use of sterile techniques and proper hand hygiene.
- Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness, coordinate with engineers/physicists for equipment maintenance, and report any issues.
- Screen individuals entering the department according to approved safety policies and procedures.
- Manage and verify all relevant patient documentation, including requisitions, patient history, consent forms, and pregnancy status.
- Accurately maintain medical imaging records in appropriate systems (PACS, EMR, etc.) and ensure timely record-keeping.
- Follow all department and system policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Provide courteous, professional service to ensure patient satisfaction, including timely service and minimal wait times.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations, including administering first aid and using emergency equipment as needed.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional competency, including knowledge and skills for caring for patients across all age groups.
- Serve as a trainer and resource for new team members and new initiatives as required.
- Be available for on-call shifts if needed.
- Work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision, maintaining a calm and helpful attitude under stress.
- Comply with all regulatory and system standards for quality, accuracy, and cost-efficiency.

Med Ninjas Job ID #14933. Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
