Description

Job Summary – CLS SJO Clinical Lab (Blood Bank Night Shift)

- Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Blood Bank
- Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital Preferred (426 beds)
- Shift: Night Shift, 4x10hr variable days (Start time 21:30, may flex to 20:00 as needed)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Work Setting: Fully independent, night shift coverage (must work alone with confidence)
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years recent/current Blood Bank experience (within last 2 years) – HARD STOP
- Recent/current travel experience in Blood Bank – SEASONED TRAVELER REQUIRED
- Level I Trauma and large hospital (300+ beds) Blood Bank experience
- High volume testing: 30–50 samples/day (type, screen, crossmatch)
- Epic charting system experience
- Blood Bank-specific software experience required (Wellsky, Immucor preferred; any software accepted)
- Certifications:
- Required: ASCP-BB (Blood Bank) certification
- Preferred: Clinical Immunohematology Science certification
- Interview: Daytime Pacific Time interview availability required at submission
- Specialty Breakdown: If multiple lab specialties, provide percentage breakdown per assignment
- Work Requirements:
- Rotating weekends and holidays (may exceed every other weekend for unit needs)
- No on-call or floating required
- No consideration for outside employment-based scheduling requests
- RTO (time-off) restrictions: Must be included at submission
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- Other Details:
- Scrub color: RNs wear royal blue; L&D/OR provided
- Parking: Free parking
- Preferred Experience: Wellsky and Immucor instrumentation, teaching hospital background

Med Ninjas Job ID #16763. Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
