Description

RN – Labor and Delivery

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum
Specialty: Postpartum / Mother-Baby preferred
Start Date: ASAP
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
First-Time Travelers: Yes, accepted
CA RN License: Required
Pending License: Not accepted

Schedule & Requirements:

Weekend Requirement: Yes, based on staffing needs
Float: Yes — travelers are first to float within their scope based on facility needs
RTO: No more than 7 days
Patient Visits: Approximately 20/day
Rooms/Beds: 11/15
Average Daily Census: 15–20
Patient Ratios: N/A

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive postpartum and mother-baby nursing care.
Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and identify changes requiring intervention.
Perform postpartum assessments, including fundus, lochia, perineal and incision assessments.
Provide breastfeeding and newborn-care education to parents.
Administer medications and provide pain management.
Care for patients following vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
Support high-risk OB patients according to facility protocols.
Circulate for cesarean sections as required.
Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team.
Float to other units within the RN's scope when required to meet staffing needs.

Certification: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP

Med Ninjas Job ID #17230. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
