Description
Start Date: December 28, 2025
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Every other weekend required; scheduling designed to meet department needs with flexibility to work across all ED sections
Highlights:
- Work in a 101-bed Emergency Department at a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with over 100,000 annual visits
- Part of the region's only Level III NICU and children's hospital with pediatric emergency services
- Typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical cases; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral health holds
- Modern equipment including Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner EMR documentation system

- Magnet-designated facility reflecting nursing excellence standards
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina RN license
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center experience preferred; high-volume ED experience required
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
- ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department

Lots of other travelers, nice approachable management that are on the floor in scrubs to help not criticize, updated cerner launch point, staff helps other staff, security is able to protect staff, PD is at hospital
Cons
Charge is only available to help with traumas otherwise they sit at their desk, techs assign pts to ER rooms making very heavy patient loads with multiple traumas with other nurse assignments being very light, not enough policies to protect nurses from verbal and physical violence from patients
