Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: Not specified

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required; scheduling designed to meet departmental needs with flexibility to work across all ED sections

Support staff includes techs, unit clerks on all shifts, and specialized cardiac monitoring team

Requirements:

Active Registered Nurse license
Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
Preferred experience in Level II trauma center or high-volume ED environment
Required certifications prior to start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
Strong teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback

Lots of other travelers, nice approachable management that are on the floor in scrubs to help not criticize, updated cerner launch point, staff helps other staff, security is able to protect staff, PD is at hospital

Cons

Charge is only available to help with traumas otherwise they sit at their desk, techs assign pts to ER rooms making very heavy patient loads with multiple traumas with other nurse assignments being very light, not enough policies to protect nurses from verbal and physical violence from patients
